Meta SEO Audit Tool

Check important on-page SEO elements including title, meta description, canonical, robots, Open Graph, Twitter card, viewport and H1 structure.

Enter a public webpage URL. The tool will analyze the HTML returned by the server.

Enter the full URL of any public web page above and click Start SEO Audit. The tool fetches the HTML the server returns and checks the title, meta description, canonical tag, robots directives, Open Graph and Twitter card tags, viewport and H1 structure. Each check is marked as passed, a warning or an issue, with a recommendation you can act on. You can filter the results, copy the URL or export a CSV.

What the Audit Checks

ElementWhat a good result looks like
Title tagPresent, unique, describes the page, roughly 50–60 characters
Meta descriptionPresent, specific, roughly 120–155 characters
CanonicalPoints to the preferred URL, usually the page itself
Meta robotsAllows indexing on pages you want in search (no unintended noindex)
Open Graph / Twitter cardTitle, description and image set so shares look correct on social platforms
Viewportwidth=device-width, initial-scale=1 for mobile-friendly rendering
H1One clear main heading that matches the page topic

How to Use the Meta SEO Audit Tool

  1. Paste a full page URL, including https://.
  2. Click Start SEO Audit and wait for the score and results table.
  3. Filter by Issues first, then Warnings.
  4. Fix each item in your CMS or SEO plugin.
  5. Clear your cache and run the audit again to confirm the fix.

How to Prioritise Fixes

  • Fix first: an unintended noindex, a canonical pointing to a different page, or a missing title. These can stop a page appearing in search.
  • Fix next: missing or duplicated meta descriptions, multiple competing H1s and missing viewport tags.
  • Nice to have: Open Graph and Twitter images, and fine-tuning title and description length.

A 100% score does not guarantee rankings. These checks confirm that the basics are in place; rankings depend mainly on how useful the content is for the search.

Limitations

  • The tool reads the HTML returned by the server. Tags added later by JavaScript may not be detected.
  • Pages behind a login, firewall or bot protection may return an error.
  • It checks one page at a time. For site-wide checks, use the bulk H1 checker, broken link checker and XML sitemap checker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my page show a canonical warning?

Usually because the canonical points to another URL, such as a version with different parameters or without a trailing slash. Make sure each indexable page has a self-referencing canonical unless you intend to consolidate it.

Is a missing Open Graph image a problem for SEO?

Not for Google rankings, but it affects how links look when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn and messaging apps.

Can I audit pages on other websites?

Yes, any public URL can be checked, which is useful for comparing your page with competitors.
